M.A.W. Charity Events
M.A.W. Charity Events was established in 2015 in loving memory of Manu Ajamu Williams. MAW engages people of all ages about the dangers of blood clots. Proceeds of these events go to official 501- C3 charities which specialize in blood clot awareness or medical research.
According to the CDC up to 600,000 people suffer from blood clot complications every year. Every 5-6 minutes someone will pass away from a blood clot. This is more than AIDS, car accidents and breast cancer combined.
Blood clot symptoms aka known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) may include: Swelling in the leg/arm, pain which may get worse with walking or standing, skin discoloration, shortness of breath, chest pain and/or coughing.
Blood clots that break free and travel to the bloodstream to the lungs is called a pulmonary embolism (PE). The heart and lungs can become permanently damaged if a pulmonary embolism is left untreated. The condition can also cause sudden death.
If you think you or a loved one could have a blood clot...call 9-1-1 or your doctor immediately.
